I got this for my son who is 4.5 years old. We are into F1, so the cars are perfect. For an adult the track is simple to put together. The tabs on the track are a little fragile so I wouldn't recommend a child to do it alone.
The cars will fly off the track in a 180dergee turn almost every time so try 90degree turns only. We got expansion no 3 with some banked curves, this helped a lot.
We spend hours playing with it together.
