Review : Better than what I was expecting!
I saw this track set at Hobby Headquarters in Atascadero months ago and thought "That's really cool...if it works." It was in the box and my son's birthday was still months away so I forgot about it. Until my wife mentioned it last week! I couldn't remember the name so I yahooed "crank slot cars" or something like that. The one that came up was the folding one by Life-Like. I couldn't remember at this point if the one at HH was folding or not. Anyway, I look at the reviews on that one and they were largely horrible. "Hard to crank." "Inconsistent speed." "Flies off the track a lot." "Shoddy wiring". So I was REALLY leery of how this thing was going to do.
Well tonight, like a good dad, I played with my son's 5th birthday present 3 days before he gets it. Hahaha. It's really cool and works really well with one little, by-passable exception: the suggested track configuration doesn't work. I take that back. It worked for several laps for one car in one lane.
