Review : Excellent Fast F1 Car
Scalextric has built a winner with this 1968 F1 car. This is a very quiet, incredibly quick car. The magnets are strong, it is impossible to get the tail to hang out on this car stock out of the box. I would recommend running this car on a long track; it isn't really happy on a short figure eight or oval. The car is pretty rugged, stronger than the modern F1 cars with that weak front O connector. However, it is not going to stand up to crashes as well as a closed wheel road car.
Scalextric has done a great job with Formula 1 cars of all eras. The detail on this car is really nice. It captures the best era of F1 racing.
I like to buy my slot cars in "pairs" or similar chassis so that we can have fair races (two Slot.IT Lemans cars, two skinny tired 1950's F1, the three car Italian Job Minis, etc).
